I began making instruments in 1991, first making a six course lute and then an Irish harp.

In 1993 I attended West Dean College on a three year apprenticeship in early string instrument making. My tutors were Roger Rose and Martin Haycock. My work concentrated on building renaissance lutes and baroque and renaissance guitars.

My work at the moment is focused on guitar making, ranging from steel strung parlour guitars influenced by 19th and early 20th century models to classical and flamenco guitars, whilst still retaining an interest in making lutes and early guitars.

I currently work from my Winchester workshop in Hampshire, South of England.
